Carlow Fund

Unrestricted gifts to the Carlow Fund are used where Carlow needs it most and help the university complete its mission and provide much-needed support for students, while also giving alumni a chance to pay it forward.

Support Carlow's Greatest Needs

Unrestricted contributions to the Carlow Fund provide vital financial support for students, eliminating barriers and helping to make their educational dreams a reality. 

The Carlow Fund helps close the gap between opportunity and reality for many students and helps ensure Carlow graduates are positioned for success. The annual campaign runs every year from July 1 through June 30 and accepts gifts of any size. Donors can make a difference with $10 or $10,000. 

1929 Society

The Carlow University 1929 Society is a group of alumni and friends dedicated to financially supporting the University. Members contribute $1,000 or more to the Carlow Fund during the University’s fiscal year from July 1 through June 30. The society honors the founding of the institution in 1929 by the Sisters of Mercy and recognizes the University’s most generous donors.

1929 Society benefits

  • $25,000 and up: Donor profile in Carlow Magazine; plus all member benefits listed below
  • $10,000 - $24,999 level: Invitation to private engagement with University president, key members of board of trustees and faculty; plus all member benefits listed below
  • $5,000 - $9,999 level: Private campus tour with Sister Sheila Carney; plus all member benefits listed below
  • $2,500 - $4,999 level: Private campus tour with Spirit Student; plus all member benefits listed below
  • $1,000 - $2,499 level: 1929 Society pin; recognition in online honor roll and on Carlow website

Student Emergency Fund

The Student Emergency Fund - as a part of the Carlow Fund - was established to help ensure that students have access to the support and resources they need to successfully recover from unexpected financial crises and remain on track academically.

Receiving Student Emergency funds meant the entire world to me. Both of my job positions were eliminated due to COVID and I still needed to pay my rent, electricity, car payment, tuition payment, and general expenses like groceries. It took a lot of stress off of me and allowed me to focus more on my education.
